Arugula is a peppery, distinctive-tasting green that originated in the Mediterranean region. It’s also known as rucola, salad rocket, and Italian cress. One study cites arugula as being particularly high in cancer-fighting agents.

It is high in folate, a B vitamin that is a must have for pregnant women; vitamins A, a powerful anti oxidant; vitamin C, that helps support the immune system; and vitamin K.
